Language Cafe: a 24/7 virtual cafe for Japanese Language Exchange

We're launching the Language Cafe - a virtual cafe on Gaijin Mode that is open 24/7 for you to practice Japanese with learners from around the world. As part of the launch, we are organizing free weekly Japanese-English language exchange sessions.

Finding good Japanese conversation opportunities is difficult. In-person meetups do not happen frequently and they don't always match up with your schedule.

We want to make it easy for you to speak Japanese - to AI and also to people. We already allow you to speak with AI characters on your schedule, but human connection is special. Right?

Right. With the new Language Cafe, there is now an online space that captures the spontaneous energy of meeting like-minded people at a hidden spot. A place where you can drift between conversations, stay as long as you want, and leave when you need to.

You can walk around, switch tables, and make friends from around the world. Unlike traditional video calls where you're locked into one group, our virtual cafe lets you move and engage freely. It's spatial - meaning you hear people only when you're close to them, and can run away when you need to. Just like in real life.
